Enjoy the tour through the Mühlviertel and receive a warm welcome with a welcome Gin Tonic. The tour starts with a 70-minute guided tour in German or English* through the impressive show with tasting of the extensive spirits. In addition to the successful whisky product line, Peter Affenzeller has specialized in the spirits gin and vodka. In the shop, right at the source of fine Austrian whisky, there are fine takeaway not only excellent whisky, but also numerous exclusive accessories and delicacies such as whisky, gin ketchup and gin and tonic chilli sauce.

After the factory tour, the Affenzeller team will spoil you in the Café Lounge with sun terrace with a richly decorated Mühlviertler Jausenplatte (bread, meat, regional products) and delicious products from the whisky distillery.

The former concentration camp Mauthausen is about 20 km from Linz and was the largest German concentration camp of the National Socialists in the territory of Austria. The Austrian Federal Government has built a museum in a building of the former concentration camp.

Today, the rest of the camp and the quarry are a memorial and a place of remembrance.

The tunnel of remembrance is about 30 km south of Linz in the city center of Steyr. The exhibition is housed in a former air-raid shelter and tells the story of Steyr during the Nazi rule. The tunnel itself was built by concentration camp prisoners in 1943 and served as an air-raid shelter in the Second World War. The focus is on the history of the Steyr-Münichholz concentration camp and the fate of thousands of forced laborers in and around Steyr.

Since the tunnel has a temperature of around 10 degrees Celsius all year round, we recommend that visitors dress appropriately.

The tour: is booked only for you and is possible from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Tuesday to Sunday.

Recommendation:
On entering the tunnel on the same day, you can also visit the nearby Museum of the Working World free of charge.

You still have the opportunity to take a walk through the beautiful old town in Steyr and to explore Lamberg Castle (without a tour) from outside and linger in the castle garden.
